Sweet Thai Chili BBQ Shrimp

You will need:

  • Wooden skewers
  • 1 lb shrimp fresh or frozen (if using frozen, thaw prior to marinating)
  • ½ cup Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • ¼ cup Sonny’s BBQ Sweet sauce
  • ¼ cup Sweet Thai (red) Chili sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • Regular sliced bacon (not thick)
  • Charcoal
  • Non-stick spray

Directions:

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to avoid burning on grill.
  2. Marinate shrimp in ½ cup Olive Oil and 2 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning, fresh garlic, pinch of salt and pepper for 3-4 hours.
  3. Cut bacon in ½ and wrap around shrimp (do not overlap too much, cut the bacon if necessary).
  4. Take skewer and starting at the non-tail side of the shrimp, insert through shrimp and exit near the tail to secure the bacon.
  5. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. Spray the grill with non-stick spray.
  7. Place the shrimp on the grill, cook approx. 5-8 minutes.
  8. Combine ¼ cup Sonny’s BBQ sauce and ¼ cup Sweet Thai Chili.
  9. When bacon is crispy, brush with Thai Chili, BBQ sauce mixture, cook another minute or 2 and remove from grill.
