Our 24K Golden Ribs

Around here, our Baby Back Ribs are known for their smoked to perfection taste and savory flavor. As we kick off our Golden Year, we’re doin’ it big with edible gold on the ribs that our BBQ fans know and love. Head Pitmaster, Bryan Mroczka, put a spin on our traditional preparation and switched up our list of ingredients for one lucky winner to sink their teeth into.

The Golden Rib recipe was carefully put together with the purpose of using ingredients from the states we serve in. The ribs, sourced from a heritage pig, are submerged in a sweet tea brine for 24 hours, slow-smoked for three hours, and coated with homegrown ingredients.

The sweet tea brine includes oolong tea from Harney & Sons and sea salt from South Carolina’s Bulls Bay Saltworks.

The flavorful rub consists of truffle butter from Winter Garden, tupelo honey from Winter Park, as well as Pink Himalayan Salt from Jacobsen Salt Co. In addition to being an important part of our golden rib recipe, the Pink Himalayan Salt used is a key ingredient in the meals packaged by Feeding Children Everywhere. We went back to our roots in Gainesville for the bee pollen added in our final rub, just before the edible 24K Gold Flakes.
