A delicious blend of fresh fruit poured over ice makes for a refreshing homemade Berry Blast.
You will need:
- 3 cups fresh Strawberries (sliced)
- 2 cups fresh Blueberries
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 4 tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 4 cups cold water
- ½ cup Sugar
Directions:
- Place Strawberries, Blueberries, and 4 tbsp of sugar in a sauce pan on the stove over medium heat.
- Stir and mash the berries in the pan with a wooden spoon until completely soft, then bring to a boil for 2 minutes.
- Remove from stove; stir in honey, and let cool for 3 minutes.
- Place a micro-strainer into a bowl, and strain out all the pulp from the saucepan only keeping the juice in the bowl. (It should make around 2 cups of juice)
- Pour the mixture into a pitcher and immediately add another half cup of sugar; stir. This is important that you follow this step, as the sugar will melt quickly in the mixture when it is still warm.
- Add 4 cups of cold water to the juice and mix thoroughly.
- Refrigerate or pour over a cup of ice and garnish with Strawberries and Blueberries.
