Now more than ever, our communities could use a little more kindness. So this Giving Tuesday (12/1), we’re going local with the help of our newly formed Kindness Crew.
The Kindness Crew is made up of three Sonny’s team members who were nominated by their peers to join Chief Kindness Officer, Kennon Adkinson, in our mission to spread the spirit of BBQ one kind deed at a time.
Now, they’ll each have the opportunity to donate $2,500 to a charity of their choice on the national day of giving.
Meet our Kindness Crew
Claudia | Server, Apopka
“I will be donating $2,500 to JDRF to help fund research for better treatments and a cure for type 1 diabetes (juvenile). This organization is special to me because my daughter was diagnosed with the disease when she was 6. She’s 13 now, and it’s a daily challenge for her. I hope this donation will make a difference in the lives of people struggling to live with type 1 diabetes and helps JDRF get closer to finding a cure.”
Jessica | Server, Orange Park
“The Wolfson Children’s Hospital saved my daughter Aaliyah’s life – without them, my baby wouldn’t be alive today. This donation will help me thank the NICU staff for taking such great care of my baby!”
Tara | Director of Operations, Palm Harbor
“Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Service has a Holocaust Survivor Program, which my mother manages. I’ve helped her with events in the past that really touched me and made me want to give back. This program helps improve the quality of life for those who survived the Holocaust. They provide survivors with tablets and ways to stay connected to family and friends, prescription drug and medical assistance funds, transportation when needed as well as providing them with social events year-round to keep them active.”
