Spreading kindness warms the heart the same way BBQ warms the belly. There is no better feeling than watching someone you’ve helped benefit from your good deed. There is a ripple effect of happiness when the people around you choose to lead with kindness.
Here at Sonny’s, we know spreadin’ kindness is important and it’s something we value a whole lot. We recently asked our guests to share their stories of a time when they or someone they know experienced kindness. Here are some of our favorites.
Sonny’s Helps Create a Special Birthday Tradition
Every year on my birthday, Sonny’s sends me a coupon for a free pork sandwich. I share this with my daughter, who is permanently disabled. This truly makes my birthday a special day for her, and she looks forward to this every year. Thank you, Sonny’s. – David W.
Home is Where the Pulled Pork Is
Sonny’s smells like home to me. I’ve been going to Sonny’s in Pensacola since I was a child. I’m 30 now and when I think back, I remember birthdays, anniversaries, time spent with my parents and grandparents. The smells and tastes of Sonny’s takes me back to those memories spent with loved ones who have since passed away. It’s comforting and I look forward to spending time with my old children over a nice plate of Sonny’s BBQ. – Jason A.
Paying it Forward for the Holidays
My mom and I received an act of kindness from a church group who paid our bill completely last year around Christmas time and one of your own workers paid for mine and two other disabled veterans’ meals about 2 weeks ago! We are always grateful for Sonny’s meals!! – Carol C.
A Guest Sees a Family Struggling to Provide for Their Kids and Jumps in to Help
I was in a restaurant and a young couple with 3 children were sitting next to us. When their food arrived it was only 1 adult meal which they shared with the children. The little girl who appeared to be about 6 said I want some more, and the mom told her that is all they had, and she could have a snack when they got home. The father asked for a refill on his drink and the mother said I hope they don’t charge you for the refill. I paid for their meal and included the tip. The family asked the waitress who paid for their meal, and she said I’m sorry I can’t tell you that just have a blessed day! – Angela M.
Exceptional Service and Friendly Smiles Keep These Guests Coming Back
My daughter and I enjoy spending time with each other, and Sylvia at the Wesley Chapel location has always made us feel more than welcome in the thirty years we have lived here. The emotions of feeling appreciated and welcomed back each time makes us feel special. Sylvia always stops by our table (if we come on her shift) to express her gratitude for us choosing Sonny’s. Exceptional service and friendly smiles as well as delicious food time and time again that makes our day. – Terry P.
Sonny’s is always searchin’ for inspiring stories of kindness, and we love hearin’ all the kindness our communities have to offer. Do you have a story of a time you or someone close to you experienced kindness? If so, share your stories with us at QtheKindness.com.
