Sweet Ribbon-Cutting
Before we got the smoker goin’ for the great people of Lake Buena Vista, we had to celebrate in our special way. On Monday, August 26th, 2024, we gathered the entire team together in the lobby before headin’ outside for the tried-and-true ribbon cutting.
Local Pitmaster and General Manager Greg Schilling held the ceremonial scissors for the big moment. The local Chamber of Commerce and his entire team at Lake Buena Vista cheered him on, and then, once that ribbon was cut, it was time to eat.
We were still a few days out from the Grand Opening, but the team still got an opportunity to train just a bit more. For the first few days, the LBV team hosted their closest friends and family. That way they could learn the ropes and make sure they were fired up for the big day.
Smokin’ Grand Opening
After much anticipation, the big day arrived for Sonny’s Lake Buena Vista. We opened our doors on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, but this wasn’t your average Grand Opening. The team pulled out all the stops to make sure everyone had a very sweet time.
It wasn’t just the team members, guests enjoyed some packed plates and full days as well. Among the fun and activities. they spun the prize wheel for a shot at free Sonny’s swag, they sampled our Sonny’s Catering offerings with our sweet and delicious BBQ Meatballs and the first 68 guests in line received Free Pork Big Deals. It’s just our way of thankin’ our biggest fans.
