Teachers deserve endless appreciation for helping our kids grow into future leaders and reach their full potential. They teach them to strive for greatness and be the best they can be. At Sonny’s, we want them to know their hard work does not go unnoticed. As summer comes to an end and teachers are heading back to school, we thought it would be the perfect time to recognize and celebrate them.
Last year, we wanted the teachers in our communities to know how grateful we were for everything they do to make school a fun learning environment for our children. We were able to surprise five teachers with a $250 Sonny’s BBQ gift card. We asked our guests for nominations and it’s no surprise that we got such an amazing response. Here are a few of the stories we chose.
Angela M. – Tallahassee
“She’s the most amazing woman I know and one of the most outstanding teachers I’ve seen/worked for. I’ve watched her spend her entire paycheck multiple times just so her “kids” have a great learning environment. I’ve watched her worry herself sick over figuring out ways to teach a student something so that they better understand it. On top of all that she does for her students, at the age of 58, she adopted my newborn niece just so that she would be in the best home possible and with people who truly love her. My mom does so much for her students and everyone else that I feel like she deserves something nice to be done for her.”
Dustin K. – Spring Hill
“He is a teacher and the athletic director at Springstead High School and has done a phenomenal job at juggling the whole sports program of the largest High School in our county during the pandemic. He always has the students’ safety and best interests in mind.”

“This teacher single-handedly organized the online platform used for her school last year. She continues to push through teaching in-person and online students simultaneously while having her own health concerns throughout this pandemic. She puts her whole heart into doing anything her students need and is always willing to help her colleagues!”
