David’s fun-loving personality has guests lining up to sit in his section every week. He is a hard worker and is always the first to volunteer when his team needs an extra hand. When he has free time he will help buss tables in the dining room, take drink orders out and run his teammates food out without being asked. He does whatever he can to help with the brightest smile on his face. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for his teammates and guests. There are many great stories of David’s love for his guests, but one truly stands out. A guest and her husband used to come in once a week and always sat in David’s section. We were saddened to learn that her husband had passed away unexpectedly last year. David made it a point to attend the funeral and pay his respects to his beloved guests. A few weeks later, this guest came in alone for lunch, looking a little unsettled. David welcomed her with open arms and walked her over to his section. He sat down with her as they talked about her husband and the great memories they shared until she felt better. David’s story is just one example of how guests become family here at Sonny’s.
